Our Community

For Buddhists, community (or 'Sangha') means friendships based on a shared vision of what is most valuable in life. Anyone is welcome to help cultivate this vision at the London Buddhist Centre, whether that is in person or online.

You can just drop in for a class or take your involvement much further, making friends and joining in with the community. We also have activities for a few particular groups of people.

Going Deeper

If you want to continue to deepen your practice at the LBC, we’ll help you to keep on taking the next step, whatever that is for you. It could be anything from going on a more intensive retreat to training for ordination.

A significant step might be to ask to become a Mitra (meaning ‘friend’) in a simple ceremony to mark that you consider yourself a Buddhist and want to practise in the context of Triratna. If you’re interested, or simply want to discuss taking your involvement further, do get in touch - the Mitra convenors would be happy to talk to you.

People of Colour

We run regular events for people of African, Asian or mixed heritage to come together to learn meditation and be inspired by the Buddha’s teaching.

Sub25

We offer classes for young people by young people. If you're aged 18-25, this is a great way to discover meditation and find out more about the teaching of the Buddha in a way that's relevant right here and now in your life.

Families & Children

The demands of parenting add another level of challenge to the practice of Buddhism and meditation and during the lockdown we're offering our regular classes for parents and children on Zoom.
